Nifty October futures trade at a premium

The Nifty October 2026 futures closed at 22,399.90, a premium of 36.55 point compared with the Nifty's closing at 22,363.35 in the cash market.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index dropped 157.10 points or 0.70% to 22,363.35.

The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of the market's expectation of volatility over the near term, jumped 5.98% to 15.24

HDFC Bank, HCL Technologies and Avenue Supermarts (DMart) were the top-traded individual stock futures contracts in the F&O segment of the NSE.

The October 2026 F&O contracts will expire on 27 October 2026.
