Nifty October futures trade at a premium

The Nifty October 2026 futures closed at 22,520, a premium of 98.05 point compared with the Nifty's closing at 22,421.95 in the cash market.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index dropped 198.50 points or 0.88% to 22,421.95.

The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of the market's expectation of volatility over the near term, jumped 7.04% to 14.4.

Infosys, HDFC Bank and Kotak Mahindra Bank were the top-traded individual stock futures contracts in the F&O segment of the NSE.

The October 2026 F&O contracts will expire on 27 October 2026.
