Nifty October futures trade at a discount

The Nifty October 2026 futures closed at 23,113, a discount of 33.15 points compared with the Nifty's closing at 23,146.15 in the cash market.

In the cash market, the Nifty 50 index surged 148.80 points or 0.65% to 23,146.15.

The NSE's India VIX, a gauge of the market's expectation of volatility over the near term, rose 0.35% to 14.08.

HDFC Bank, Infosys and Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) were the top-traded individual stock futures contracts in the F&O segment of the NSE.

The October 2026 F&O contracts will expire on 27 October 2026.
