DCB Bank gains on appointment of Pushan Mahapatra as non-executive chairman

The appointment has been approved by the bank’s board in accordance with applicable provisions of the Banking Regulation Act, 1949.

Pushan Mahapatra is a career banker with over 40 years of experience, including 35 years with the State Bank of India (SBI) group. He has held senior leadership roles across retail and corporate banking, technology, compliance, and audit functions. He also served as vice president (Systems & Internal Audit) at SBI’s Hong Kong branch for over four years.

He previously headed SBI General Insurance Company as MD & CEO for nearly five years, where he is credited with strengthening the company’s performance and positioning it among leading private sector general insurers in India.

Currently, he is associated with Zurich Insurance Group and has served as a non-executive director on the board of Zurich Kotak General Insurance Company (India) Ltd since June 2024. He is also an independent director on the board of Angel One Trustee Limited.

DCB Bank is a new generation private sector bank with 480 branches across 20 states and 2 union territories. The bank’s business segments are retail, micro-SMEs, SMEs, mid-corporate, microfinance institutions (MFIs), agriculture, commodities, government, public sector, Indian banks, cooperative banks, and non-banking finance companies (NBFCs).

DCB Bank reported a 16.14% rise in net profit to Rs 205.65 crore on an 8.06% increase in total income to Rs 2,118.78 crore in Q4 FY26 over Q4 FY25.
