27-Oct-26   16:58 Hrs IST
The US stock market experienced an upward movement on Monday, as traders began the new week with a relatively stable outlook following a week of volatility. With a lack of significant economic data affecting the markets, the focus has shifted to the upcoming Federal Reserve policy announcement scheduled for later this week. The S&P 500 index rose by 53.35 points or 0.7%, reaching a total of 7,677.03. Similarly, the technology index saw an increase of 214.02 points, or 0.83%, bringing it to 26,169.38, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average rose by 146.60 points, or 0.28%, to reach 52,361.76. This week is anticipated to be active, as over one-third of the companies listed in the S&P 500 are expected to report their earnings, including major corporations like Alphabet, Microsoft, and Amazon.com. Additionally, US Treasury yields remained largely unchanged, just below the 5% threshold on Monday, influenced primarily by corrections in crude oil prices, which have significantly affected market sentiments.
