Singapore Stocks end flat, eyes on Fed

The Singapore stock market finished session virtually flat on Friday, 09 June 2023, as investors opted the sidelines ahead of updates from major central banks.

Investor focus next week will be on policy meetings from the U.S. Federal Reserve and the European Central Bank.

At closing bell, the Straits Times Index (STI) index was up marginal 0.36 point, or 0.01%, to 3,186.97 after trading between 3,179.03 and 3,191.11. Volume of 1.16 billion shares worth S$1.0.3 billion changed hands. There were 269 gainers and 233 decliners.

The top STI constituent stock was Thai Beverage, which rose 3.6% to 57.5 cents, while Yangzijiang Shipbuilding was at the bottom of the performance chart after declining 2.3% to $1.27.
