In an exchange filing, NTPC stated that unit-1 (800 MW) of Telangana STPP, Stage-I (2x800 MW) was declared on commercial operation with effect from 00:00 hrs of 28 September 2023.
With this, standalone and group commercial capacity of NTPC will become 57,838 MW and 73,824 MW respectively.
NTPC is India's largest energy conglomerate. It has presence in the entire value chain of the power generation business. As on 30 June 2023, the Government of India holds 51.10% in NTPC.
The company's consolidated net profit jumped 23.8% to Rs 4,873.24 crore in Q1 FY24 from Rs 3,936.82 crore recorded in Q1 FY23. Revenue from operations declined marginally to Rs 43,075.09 crore in Q1 FY24 as against Rs 43,177.14 crore posted in Q1 FY23.
Shares of NTPC declined 0.71% to Rs 238.50 on the BSE.
