The key equity barometers traded flat in morning trades. Nifty moved in a range of 23019-22905. Nifty IT, Nifty Pharma and Nifty Healthcare Index shares rose, while Nifty Consumer Durables and Nifty Chemicals shares declined.

At 10:45 IST, the barometer index, the S&P BSE Sensex, up 46.49 points to 74,197.53. The Nifty 50 index down 1.80 points to 22,934.95.

The broader market failed to keep pace with frontline indices. The BSE 150 MidCap Index decreased by 0.86% and the BSE 250 SmallCap Index tumbled 1.58%.

The market breadth was fragile. On the BSE, 1503 shares advanced and 3046 shares retreated. A total of 229 shares were unchanged.

Nifty IT index gained 1.65% to 32393. The index has registered sharp gains of 15.17% in last one month and fell 11.70% over last one year. Coforge, adding 4.19%, led the gainers followed by LTM, up 2.40% and Wipro, gaining 2.21%, respectively. All 10 constituents are advancing today.

Nifty Pharma index advanced 1.07% to 26996. The index has posted modest losses of 0.83% in last one month and registered sharp gains of 19.08% over last one year. Laurus Labs, inching higher 4.61%, led the gainers followed by Zydus Lifesci., edging up 3.37% and Sai Life, gaining 1.95%, respectively. Out of 20 index constituents, 15 are reporting gains today.

Nifty Consumer Durables index declined 1.52%. The index has lost 5.33% in last one month and lost 9.74% over last one year. Blue Star, edging lower 4.07%, led the losers followed by Amber Enterp., losing 3.98% and Dixon Technolog., slipping 3.02%, respectively. Out of 14 index constituents, 13 are reporting loss today.

Out of 14 sectoral indices on NSE, 11 are in red today. Nifty IT index has recorded robust gains of 15.17% in last one month and has posted steep losses of 11.70% over last year. Nifty Consumer Durables index has suffered sharp declines of 5.33% in last one month and has recorded steep losses of 9.74% over last one year.

From NIFTY50 index, Sagility, Suzlon Energy AND Vedanta Power are leading in terms of volumes today, clocking turnover of 13240.38 lakh shares, 4637.99 lakh shares and 3011.01 lakh shares respectively.

Asian markets posted modest losses on Friday. China’s Shanghai composite is slightly lower by 0.18%, Hong Kong’s Hang Seng is firmly higher by 1.61%. Japan’s Nikkei 225 is firmly lower by 2.14%.

NIFTY50 Nov-26 futures are in discount of 78.75 points today.
