Month-on-month, edible oil imports rose significantly from 11.11 lakh tonnes in June to 14.81 lakh tonnes in July, driven by a 48% increase in palm oil demand to 719,000 tons and a 31% rise in soybean oil imports to 498,000 tons. Cumulative imports from November 2025 to July 2026 reached 121.50 lakh tonnes, a 5 percent increase from the previous year. Edible oil imports also grew by 5 percent to 119.23 lakh tonnes.
