India Foreign reserves kitty continue to decline

India’s foreign exchange reserves decreased by USD 14.881 billion, settling at USD 765.901 billion for the period ended September 18, as revealed by Reserve Bank of India data published on Friday, reflecting a decline in foreign currency assets.

According to data released by the Reserve Bank of India (RBI), foreign currency assets, a significant constituent of reserves, decreased by USD 14.816 billion to USD 630.980 billion for the week concluded September 18. The Reserve Bank of India reported that gold reserves appreciated by USD 68 million, reaching USD 111.292 billion over the week. The value of Special Drawing Rights declined by USD 106 million, settling at USD 18.739 billion. India’s reserve position with the International Monetary Fund registered at USD 4.89 billion.
