India Automobile retail Auguast sales hit record high

India’s automobile retail sales reached a record high of 24.23 lakh units in August, increasing by 18% from the previous year, as reported by the Federation of Automobile Dealers Associations (FADA). The largest growth came from construction equipment at 31.45%, followed by two-wheelers (2Ws) at 19.69%, passenger vehicles (PVs) at 16.14%, commercial vehicles (CVs) at 14.45%, and three-wheelers (3Ws) at 8.64%.

PVs achieved their best August ever with 4,02,398 units sold, driven by a 24.99% increase in rural sales. Alternative fuels represented 41.95% of PV sales, exceeding petrol/ethanol. Two-wheeler sales were 17,14,610 units, with 10.68% EV penetration, while CV and 3W sales also showed significant growth and EV share.
