Gold advances as Dollarweakens ahead of US Inflation data
09-Sep-26   17:00 Hrs IST
Gold advanced beyond $4,450 an ounce on Wednesday, bolstered by a resurgence of weakness in the US dollar, thereby increasing the attractiveness of dollar-denominated bullion to international investors. The dollar's decline was primarily influenced by a significant appreciation in the Japanese yen this month, coupled with circumspect positioning in anticipation of a dense central-bank schedule. The Federal Reserve, European Central Bank, and Bank of Japan are all projected to implement interest rate increases this month, maintaining a firm focus on monetary-policy expectations. Concurrently, investors are awaiting pivotal US inflation data to provide further insight into the Federal Reserve’s policy course. The dollar index stabilized near 98.5 following its recent depreciation, as escalating oil prices reignited inflationary anxieties and reinforced expectations of a rate increase. Against this environment, MCX October bullion futures increased 0.3% to ?153,012 per 10 grams.
