Coal India Limited (CIL) and Hindustan Urvarak & Rasayan Limited (HURL) have signed a non-binding Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on September 29, 2026, to explore the development of a Coal Gasification based Urea Production at Sindri, Jharkhand, with initial focus on assessing technical, commercial, and implementation modalities and preparing a Preliminary Feasibility Report.
