Among the components of the S&P BSE Finance index, Central Bank of India (down 8.06%), Dewan Housing Finance Corporation Ltd (down 4.99%),Magma Fincorp Ltd (down 4.97%),Bank of India (down 4.52%),Capri Global Capital Ltd (down 4.47%), were the top losers. Among the other losers were General Insurance Corporation of India (down 4.37%), Indian Overseas Bank (down 4.3%), Bank of Maharashtra (down 4.24%), Kotak Mahindra Bank Ltd (down 3.55%), and Spandana Sphoorty Financial Ltd (down 2.18%).
On the other hand, Aditya Birla Capital Ltd (up 5.88%), Muthoot Capital Services Ltd (up 5.56%), and IIFL Finance Ltd (up 5.37%) turned up.
At 13:49 IST, the S&P BSE Sensex was up 166.27 or 0.33% at 49910.59.
The Nifty 50 index was up 65.2 points or 0.44% at 14740.9.
The S&P BSE Small-Cap index was up 146.95 points or 0.75% at 19808.84.
The S&P BSE 150 Midcap Index index was up 61.17 points or 0.93% at 6656.17.
On BSE,1676 shares were trading in green, 1120 were trading in red and 171 were unchanged.
