China Stocks fall on concerns over rising global Covid-19 cases

The China shares finished session lower on Tuesday, 22 September 2020, as concerns about fresh pandemic lockdowns across Europe sapped global risk appetite. Concerns over Sino-U.S. tensions also dented sentiment.

At closing bell, the benchmark Shanghai Composite Index dropped 1.29%, or 42.63 points, to 3,274.30. The Shenzhen Composite Index, which tracks stocks on China's second exchange, declined 1.09%, or 24.15 points, to 2,184.15. The blue-chip CSI300 index eased 1.19%, or 55.67 points, to 4,635.76.
